Chiru's meet with Media baron

Reports of Chiranjeevi's political entry are gaining ground day by day. Afresh, a newspaper today published that Chiru's entry into politics is all for sure, but it is not yet clarified as to with which party he would prefer to sign the tie-up. However, the reports said that media baron Ramoji held serious discussions with Chiru, the result of which was that TDP supreme Chandrababu would be sent to Delhi to deal with national politics, while Chiru could be made the Chief Minister. The discussion was said to have lasted for two hours. At a time when there is a widespread movement in the state inviting Chiru to come into politics, we have to wait and see what decision the actor would take. The so called media king is a close associate of Chandrababu Naidu. There is also a feeler that TDP has no other option but to get into a tie-up with Chiru, if it were to get back power in the state.

With Rs150 crore riding on many big-budgeted films this year, here's a look at the Tollywood summer of 2008

2008 sure promises plenty of action in Tollywood, and we're not only just about talking on-screen , but also at the BO. Approximately Rs 150 crore is at stake with many big budgeted films slotted for release. Allu Arjun's Parugu and NTR's Kantri are likely to release by the end of April; Balakrishna starrer Panduranga , Prabhas starrer Bujjigadu-Made in Chennai, director Sreenu Vaitla's Ready are all slotted for release in May. "Except for Venkatesh, Chiranjeevi and Mahesh Babu, many top-notch stars' films are getting released," said executive producer C Nagaraju.

Releases in Tollywood work differently from how they do in Mumbai. After every much-awaited release, there is a two-week gap for the next release. For instance, as Pawan Kalyan's Jalsa is releasing with 350 prints (according to the producers of the movie) across the city, many filmmakers are refraining from releasing their films at the same time. Most of them are planning to release their films only after two weeks. "A film is considered to be a flop if it doesn't go beyond two weeks. Hence, people in the industry are keen to release their films only after looking at the response of a big release," says an industry person.
However, the industry is not too perturbed about IPL drawing away it,s audiences. "Cricket is played throughout the year, and the industry has never been bothered about it," says B Mohan, assistant director,Kantri.
While most big-star movies fizzled out during Sankranthi at the BO, the only hit came in the form of Ravi Teja's Krishna.
The summer of 2007 saw three hits - Yamadonga, Dhee, and Adavari Matalaku Ardhale Verule. That goes to show how summer is really the time to rake in the big moolah. So, here's hoping for the best of Tollywood, come summers.

Funny Human Face In Trisha's Knee

Film : One Two Three

Film : One Two Three Casting : Sunil Shetty, Tushar Kapoor, Sameera Reddy, Esha Deol Theatrical Release : March 28, 2008 Directed by Debutant director Ashwani Dheer, One Two Three stars Suniel Shetty, Tusshar Kapoor and Paresh Rawal in the lead. The supporting starcast includes Esha Deol, Sameera Reddy, Tanisha, Upen Patel… and loads of character actors… One Two Three is a slapstick comedy with a decent starcast.. Is it funny enough to tickle your funny bone for 2 and half hours?StoryOne Two Three is a story of mistaken identity of three men with the same name and the hunt for diamonds worth 20 crores. Young love birds Chandu (Upen Patel) and Chandni (Tanisha) get hold of the diamonds of dangerous don Papa. They hide the diamond in the fuel tank of an ancient car thinking nobody will ever buy, but to their dismay, their boss Laila is hell bent on selling the same car to save her showroom.A wannabe bhai (Tusshar Kapoor), a silly geek (Sunil Shetty), and a lingerie salesman (Paresh Rawal), are the three men having the same name waiting for messages at the hotel reception desk. They get the letters and photographs of the wrong girls meant for the other person. Although they end up at the wrong places, they actually end up doing things for the right reason. What is the duty assigned to them? Where do they land and what do they do?A movie like One Two Three demands a couple of things. You’re required to leave your brains back at home and dare not look out for a story as more often than not, there aint any… Some movies of the same genre and style works wonders but most of them fall flat. Unfortunately One Two Three belongs to the latter category. Its nothing but a set of silly jokes put together in a senseless plot with a few actors hamming throughout. A few sequences are funny, especially those involving Sanjay Mishra but that’s about it. The direction and screenplay are below average. The music is bad. The dialogues tend to get repetitive (especially those by Suniel Shetty) but some of them are hilarious.PerformancesSanjay Mishra stands out with a brilliant performance, his dialogue delivery and comic timing is superb. Suniel Shetty comes second with a good performance. Paresh Rawal is as usual good. Tusshar Kapoor needs to work big time on his dialogue delivery and body language. Esha Deol hams. Tanisha is irritating and so is Upen Patel. Sameera Reddy is strictly okay. The rest of the supporting cast performs well. Our Verdict:Overall, One Two Three is a below average comedy movie. Watch it if you have nothing better to do.
